Sea-Doo crew at Lake Powell

The concept

Rory Kramer assembled the ultimate crew of creators and friends (Amy Kramer, Parks Bonifay, Matt Komo, Jeremiah Davis, Bryan Soderlind, Evan Paterakis, and Joseph Shaw) to ride and explore Lake Powell during a Halloween full moon, which happens once every 20 years. Covid restrictions had just lifted and Rory and Amy had just married. The stars, and the moon, aligned.

My role

I led the storytelling concept and creative direction, then ran the project: 4 days on a remote lake with no stores, wifi, or cell service, 14 people to feed and house, 30-degree nights, and a budget a tenth of what you'd expect. I negotiated and scheduled every creator's deliverables, managed the experience for talent and stakeholders, and captained the houseboat myself, waking at 3am to move it so the crew woke somewhere new each day. This trip became the blueprint for Sea-Doo's "Adventure Alerts" content series. Rory's "Inspired by the Rider" episode followed, drawing 160K owned views and 120K earned views.
